PROJECT: Life Beyond Earth – Atmosphere & Artemis II
Más detalles
Life Beyond Earth: Atmosphere, Biodiversity & Artemis II
This interdisciplinary project invites students to explore one essential question:
👉 Why is Earth the only place where humans can live?
Through a sequence of engaging and scaffolded activities, students investigate the needs of living things, the importance of Earth’s atmosphere, and the challenges of life in space, using the context of the Artemis II mission as a motivating thread.
What will students learn?
- The basic conditions for life: air, water, temperature, and protection
- The layers of the atmosphere and their functions
- The differences between Earth and space environments
- Why humans cannot survive in space without technology
At the same time, students develop their use of English (Simple Present) to describe facts, compare environments, and explain scientific ideas.
Final Product
Students create a lapbook where they take on the role of scientists and respond to the challenge:
👉 Why can’t humans live in space?
The lapbook includes:
- A central mini-project on the layers of the atmosphere
- A comparison between Earth and space
- A reflection on why Earth is essential for life
